10 Years of Injustice at Guantanamo Bay

Minutes after taking office in 2008, President Obama’s first promise to the American people was that he was going to close down the notorious Guantanamo Bay prison camp, where people were being imprisoned for years in conditions internationally recognized as torture, without charges, let alone trials.

As with so many other promises, Obama broke his promise to close Guantanamo, and he has compounded Bush’s war crimes by expanding secret prisons in Afghanistan, assassinating people abroad and basically shredding the Constitution.

In this episode, Joe Scarry of the short documentary “The Response” joins the Gay Liberation Network’s Andy Thayer to discuss Guantanamo Bay and other civil liberties outrages.
