Indiana Moving Backwards?
While much of the country seemed to be rapidly advancing towards equal marriage rights in 2013, Indiana seemed to be moving backwards, with the threat of an anti-gay constitutional amendment seeming to march towards inevitable passage amidst an orgy of hate.
But then a remarkable thing happened: pro-equality Hoosiers came out of the woodwork and the Republican dominated state government got cold feet. While the threat of a constitutional amendment, and a bigotry-filled referendum to pass it, are not over, pro-LGBTs for the first time in many years have got cause for optimism.
Longtime Hoosier LGBT activist Linda Giovanna Zambanini talks to Gay Liberation Network co-founder Andy Thayer about this remarkable turn of events.
