Contrary to the myth put out by U.S. politicians and their media, NATO has long been unpopular in Europe.
Far from feeling “liberated” by NATO during the Cold War, the peoples of Europe bitterly resented the U.S. and Russia contemplating using their countries as a Third World War battlefield.
Today, Europeans resent their countries being dragged into a global competition between the U.S., China and Russia.
Elsa Rassbach, a longtime anti-NATO activist, flew in from Germany to join the big Chicago protests against NATO and sets the record straight about why Europeans oppose NATO as an extension of American domination abroad.
