In betraying their promises of “change” to their supporters in the Black, Latino, LGBT, and anti-war activist communities, they got walloped as a result.

The magnitude of the Democrats’ electoral failure is highlighted by the fact that just two years before this they were running against the modern-day equivalent of Herbert Hoover’s party, the Republicans, who had presided over the greatest economic screw-up since the Great Depression.
